If your domestic help works with a service voucher company, they will be insured against accidents and enjoy all the social benefits of an employment contract, unlike if they were being paid under the table. Your domestic help receives one paper or electronic service voucher for every full hour worked.

A service voucher costs € 9, but thanks to the 30% tax benefit your own share is limited to € 6.30 net. To order service vouchers in Belgium you will need to register first, which is free. You can do so using the online registration form on the Sodexo website. You must order at least ten service vouchers at a time. The vouchers are valid for eight months. If you stop using the system, you can return any remaining valid vouchers to Sodexo. Sodexo will send you a tax certificate for your tax return each year.
